About this product

PD Screen is Neuron Waves' mobile app for early Parkinson's disease screening — built for people to use themselves, at home, in a few minutes.

Using your phone's camera and microphone, PD Screen guides you through a short set of movement, tremor, facial expression, and speech assessments. Each recording is analyzed by our AI models to surface early motor and speech signs associated with Parkinson's, and the results are summarized in a clear health-scores dashboard you can review yourself or share with your doctor.

A daily check-in also lets you log medication timing, sleep, mood, and symptom severity, so you can track changes over time — not just a single snapshot.

Who it's for: anyone noticing early changes in movement, coordination, or speech and wanting a fast, private first look — plus people already managing Parkinson's who want an easy way to track how symptoms shift over time.

PD Screen is a screening tool, not a diagnostic device. It's designed to support — not replace — a conversation with a qualified clinician.

Key features

  • Movement & Tremor Capture
Short guided video tests for bradykinesia and tremor — finger tapping, hand rotation, rest and postural tremor — using just your phone's camera.
  • Facial Expression Analysis
On-device face tracking measures resting expression, smile symmetry, and blink rate to detect subtle changes in expressiveness.
  • Speech Recording
A short voice recording is analyzed for speech-related motor signs.
  • Pre-Session Check-In
Before each session, optionally log your PD medication state (ON, OFF, ON + dyskinesia, or wearing off), missed doses, wellbeing, and intake — so results can be read in context.
  • Session History & Filtering
Every session is saved with its progress and recordings. Filter your full history by assessment category or time period (today, last 7 days, last 30 days, or a custom range) to track changes over time.
  • Your Health Scores
A clear, color-coded breakdown — composite score, severity index, expressiveness, and speech score — to discuss with your doctor.
  • English & Arabic
Full bilingual support — switch the app's language from your profile at any time.
  • Private by Design
Recordings and scores are encrypted and never shared without your consent.

How it works

1

Complete a guided assessment

Follow simple, guided prompts to record short movement, tremor, facial expression, and speech clips using your phone's camera and microphone.

2

AI analyzes your results

Our models process each recording — measuring tremor, tapping rhythm, facial expressiveness, and speech patterns — in just a few minutes.

3

Get your health scores

Review a clear, color-coded results dashboard, track changes over time, and share your report with your doctor.

See it in action

Your health at a glance
01

Your health at a glance

The home dashboard is the first thing you see: a condition status card ('Your condition is stable'), a running session streak, an alerts count for anything that needs attention, and a reminder if today's check-in is still outstanding. Below it, a Recent Activity feed timestamps the last few events — a completed session, a note your doctor flagged, or a new result becoming ready — so you always know what changed since you last opened the app, without digging through menus.

Pick what to assess
02

Pick what to assess

Every session starts here. The four assessment categories — Bradykinesia, Tremor, Facial Expression, and Speech — are shown as cards with their task count (6, 4, 3, and 1 respectively), and you can select any combination with 'Select all' as a shortcut. Whatever you pick gets merged into a single guided session, so you're never forced to run separate flows back-to-back — one Create Session tap covers everything you chose.

Pre-session check-in
03

Pre-session check-in

Before recording starts, an optional check-in captures context that makes the results meaningful: whether you took your PD medication today, your current medication state (ON, OFF, ON + Dyskinesia, Wearing off, or Unknown), any missed doses, and free-form notes on wellbeing or intake. It's entirely skippable — 'Skip' and 'Save & Start' sit side by side — but filling it in lets you and your clinician read a tremor score in light of where you were in your medication cycle, not just in isolation.

Guided, on-device capture
04

Guided, on-device capture

Once a session begins, the app walks you through each selected category step by step — here, Bradykinesia and Tremor, 10 steps combined, with a live countdown timer and a running progress percentage. The camera preview names the exact step in plain language ('Finger Tapping · Right hand') before you record, and recording controls (start, stop, watch back, save) sit directly underneath so you can redo a take before committing it.

Every step named and grouped
05

Every step named and grouped

Steps are grouped by category and expandable, so before you start you can see the full shape of the session: Bradykinesia's 6 steps include Finger Tapping, Pronation-Supination, and Open/Close Hand, each marked with which hand goes first (R → L); Tremor's 4 steps include At Rest and Postural Hold for both hands. Camera icons flag which steps require recording, so there are no surprises mid-session about what's coming next.

Every session, saved
06

Every session, saved

My Sessions keeps a running history of everything you've recorded — 57 sessions in this example — each entry showing its category combination, date, status (Not Started, In Progress, Saved), a progress bar, and how many video clips were captured. Tapping any entry lets you resume an in-progress session or reopen a finished one to review what was recorded, so nothing is ever a one-off, disconnected snapshot.

Filter by category or time
07

Filter by category or time

With dozens of sessions logged over time, the Filters sheet narrows the list down fast: choose one or more categories (Bradykinesia, Tremor, Facial Expression, Speech) under 'What you want to analyze', then a date range — Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, All dates, or a fully custom range — and the results-found count updates live before you even apply it, so you can zero in on, say, only Tremor sessions from the last week.

Manage your profile
08

Manage your profile

The profile screen holds your name, email, and an uploadable profile photo (with a one-tap option to remove it), plus an English/Arabic language toggle that switches the entire app instantly, and a date-of-birth field used to contextualize age-related norms in your results. It's a straightforward settings surface — nothing about your account is buried behind extra menus.

Simple, secure sign-in
09

Simple, secure sign-in

Getting started takes seconds: continue with Google in one tap, or use email and password with a 'remember me' option and standard forgot-password / sign-up links. The screen also carries the app's language switcher up front, so choosing Arabic or English happens before you're even signed in, not buried in settings afterward.
